entry.speaker.one().title

Today we celebrate The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, a day that Holy mother church sets aside so that we can direct our attention to the truth that the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, a sacrament of inexhaustible riches. Since the Blessed Sacrament truly is Jesus, body, blood, soul and divinity, the entire Church and all her ministries, evangelistic efforts and the charitable works are bound together and directed towards the Eucharist the source and summit of Christian life. They all ate and were satisfied.

At the last supper on the night when He was betrayed, Jesus instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of His Body and Blood.  He did this in order to perpetuate his self sacrifice on the cross until He should come again.  In the Blessed Sacrament, Jesus entrusted to the Church a memorial of His death and His resurrection.  A sacrament of love, a sign of unity , and a bond of charity.  A paschal banquet at which Christ is eaten, the mind is filled with grace and a pledge of future glory is give to us all.
