Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)

Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)

Homilies, Ordinary Time

entry.speaker.one().title

On this twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time, the scriptures draw our attention to the fact that God comes among us to help us to understand his will, that we may have admiration for all His deeds. That He comes to set all those who are prisoners of conscious, all those who are imprisoned in sin, and spiritually imprisonment. He comes to set us all free.

This was the message the prophet Isaiah delivered to the people of Israel a long time ago.He told them, just like the Lord will make the blind to see, so will He set his people free, open up their minds that they understand his Word. That they may come to know Him well and serve Him. And when in the Gospel, Jesus unsealed the ears of the deaf man who also had an impediment in speech, He was only fulfilling the promise made so long ago. That was just a symbolic way of telling us, we are still blind, we are still deaf, we are still dumb in our actions. That despite all the good things that the Lord has done for us, we choose to live be darkness.
