Sunday, August 16th, 2026 – The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. – The usual date for this solemnity is on August 15th. In 2026, Saturday, Aug 15th is NOT a Holy Day of Obligation in the United States, and the celebration has moved to the following Sunday.
Sunday, November 1, 2026 – The Solemnity of All Saints
Tuesday, December 8, 2026 – The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Friday, December 25, 2026 – The Nativity of the Lord (Christmas)
Friday, January 1, 2027 – The Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, The Mother of God
Thursday, May 6, 2027 – The Solemnity of the Ascension
In the United States, when January 1 (Solemnity of Mary), August 15 (Assumption), or November 1 (All Saints) falls on a Saturday or Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated (lifted). The feast day is still celebrated, but the faithful are not required to attend Mass on that day. The official celebration is usually moved to a Sunday in those cases.
