Archbishop Philip Naameh of Ghana My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I am on a very brief visit to the United States, and I am very pleased indeed to come out here to celebrate the Eucharist with you. Father David, today is 1 year since he came to St. Anne Parish. I got here in Phoenix on Friday night, and my purpose was to come out here to visit Fr. David and take this opportunity to thank the Priests and indeed all of you for the wonderful care you have taken of him. Indeed when I arrived here and I tried to ask Fr. David, "How are you doing here?" All I got was, "The people are wonderful, they are very generous, they are very friendly, they are very good to me." So, he did not really say that is he doing well, his main message to me is the people are very supportive, and I feel great love from them, and that makes my Homily here very easy for me. Just to say thank you to all of you for what you are doing. The Priests, the Deacons, indeed all of you.
Archbishop Philip Naameh of Ghana continues:
You know when you leave Africa and come out here, you certainly will have the fears, "How am I going to be received? Will I be accepted in my ministry? I don't have one family member here, so how am I going to fair?" Father David makes me realize that he as a lot more family members here in this Parish, than he left behind. He has experienced so many mothers. so many friends, so many brothers and sisters. And it is for this I am here to thank all of you for goodness, for your kindness to him.
