Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)
August 16, 2015 7:00 am · Father David Mbimadong

For the fourth Sunday now we are reflecting on John chapter 6. And today, as Jesus told us last Sunday in the Gospel, he continues to tell us, if we do not eat his body and drink his blood, we have no life in us. For Jesus, and that is what is should be for every one of us, life should be more than being alive.
Life should be every aspect of what we do, what shall be and what we are now. So He calls us to be truly alive, to be alive to the situation of our world, to be alive to what happens in our families, and to be alive to what happens in our souls. And then when we are well prepared in this way, we will be welcome in the kingdom of God when we leave this earthly dwelling. So he calls us, as He told the people of his time. If we do not conform our lives to His life, if we do not live the type of life God wants us to live, we are dead while walking.
