Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)
June 21, 2015 5:00 pm · Father Andres Arango
A couple of years ago I was in Los Angeles city, and had to use public transportation. As I was waiting for the train to arrive, I saw a big banner in front of the station. On it was a little boy, not more than 3 years old dressed as a cowboy. There was an inscription saying "Ready for the Adventure".
We are not great enough in a physical way as a cowboy, and we are old than the boy. But we get dressed with the Holy Spirit, we are Baptized by the grace of the Lord, and in our hearts we are so blessed from the beginning because God is with us. As we are growing, life is an adventure. Before we talk about the present time, let us go to the Gospel to see what happened, and why I am talking this way. Jesus said to his disciples today, "Let us go to the other side." The sea was right in front. "Let us go to the other side". It was an adventure, it was something new, something different, something unpredictable.
