Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)
November 08, 2015 5:00 pm · Father Dan Vanyo

In the Gospel you hear about the Pharisees and their phylacteries, love that word, phylacteries. And trying to get attention and liking the attention. And I thought of the procession, the Eucharistic procession we did yesterday morning in public. For those of you where there, I talked to a few of you since yesterday morning, it wasn't that long ago but, you went, "Wow! That was cool!".
And for those of you that didn't come, you missed out. That is one of my favorite things to do. Walk with Jesus out on the streets. It is one of the coolest things I've ever done. If you've missed this, it's two years in a row we've done that, so stop missing it. So, go next year. We had the music, we had the Knights of Columbus, there was a line of parishioners, hundreds. Going down Elliot across Gilbert, and we make a right, the next street west of Gilbert is Ash. So we're making a right turn, and we paused and Father Sergio was over here as you could see the people holding up traffic. So the cars on Gilbert were stuck, because our parishioners were still coming, this long line you could just see it. I remarked to him, I said, "The world stops for God." It was just a cool moment.
