The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity (Homily)

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity (Homily)

Homilies, Easter

entry.speaker.one().title

Today we celebrate the The Solemnity of the Blessed Trinity, the inner life of God. In this solemnity we celebrate the unity of the three persons in one God. This calls for our common unity that we may live a life that brings us holiness and God's grace. However, because we are different people with different ways of life, we fail to see the need to live in unity and so bring God's will to fulfillment. As we celebrate the Blessed Trinity today we are called to reflect on our lives in relationship to God.

The first reading draws our attention to the wisdom of God.  This wisdom of God which is spoken of in the Old Testament scriptures, is the one who in the New Testament, took on flesh in the womb of the Virgin Mary and was born a man like us, Jesus Christ.  Before He returned to His Father, Jesus said all He taught His disciples would be too much for them to remember, so He would send them another helper.  He would send them the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Blessed Trinity.  All three, Father, Son and Holy Spirit work together for a common purpose.  Though each of them carries on their activity in a different way, they are working for a common purpose for the good of the world and for the salvation of the human race.
