The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity (Homily)

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity (Homily)

May 31, 2015 5:00 pm  · Father David Mbimadong

Homilies, Ordinary Time

entry.speaker.one().title

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. This is the one feast in which to totality of God is celebrated. We celebrate the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit as three distinct persons united in one godhead. That is to say we celebrate in this feast the Trinity of Undivided Unity.

Yesterday I said, Catholics we like big, big, big words. All these are just to help us understand the mystery of God who is a three personed God. When we come to celebrate this feast, what we are doing is to remind ourselves of the faith we profess. The creed that we profess, we will profess immediately after this preaching, we recall what we believe, who we believe in and why we believe. It is the love of God, the mercy of God, the might, the power of God that we celebrate.
