The Resurrection of the Lord - At the Easter Vigil in the Holy Night of Easter

This year we have listened to every reading that the Liturgy provides, and so I will try to be especially brief in this homily.
I want to wish everyone who is following us from home a very Happy Easter.
Dear St. Anne family, Christ is risen! These three words condense the entire meaning of our lives and the most powerful reason for hope. Yesterday, on Good Friday, we contemplated the lifeless Heart of the crucified Christ, an inert heart, a heart made cold by the icy touch of death. Today, the Church listens again, with more strength than ever, to the murmur of a Heart that dies no more.
Christ has risen. In these dark hours, more than ever, we must listen to the ever-new message of Easter. I know we all have concerns, but tonight there is nothing but joy. Christ is risen and with Him we have all risen. Our joy is Jesus. Our light is Jesus. Our hope is in Jesus. Our strength lies in Jesus. Our life is glorious in Christ.
That is why my words today want to be like peace-bearing doves that fly near and far to each home and to each heart that will listen, to give you all the only hope that does not disappoint. The great lesson tonight is that the light of God overcomes the darkness of the world. No one can extinguish the flame of this glad tiding. Christ is the beginning and the end of history. He is the meaning of all creation and the answer to all the aspirations of man.
Dear St. Anne family, we all need the joy of Easter today. Those who are in sin, or discouraged, or disappointed need it. Those who must give strength to the weak and encouragement to those who despair, need it. It is needed by our tested people who desire to return to the Eucharistic Table and unite themselves to the Risen One sacramentally at Holy Mass.
Lord, may our faith in your Resurrection make us joyous, strong, fearless, faithful, and holy; and someday, having died first with you, we will live forever united with You and our Mother, and all the angels and the saints, in the eternal joys of Paradise.
