The Baptism of the Lord (Homily)

And a voice came from heaven saying, "You are my beloved son, with you I am well pleased." The Catechism tells us, this is the moment, the baptism of the Lord, the spirit descending upon him, heavens being opened, the voice saying is response, "You are my beloved son, with you I am well pleased."
The Catechism tells us this is He, the manifestation of Jesus as the Messiah of Israel, and the Son of God. He didn't need the graces of baptism like we do, He was God. But he modeled it for us, and the moment is much deeper as just stated. Lots of deep thing were going on, this was significant in other ways. Jesus accepts the mission of the Father, and the Father responds by being pleased. Isn't that what we all want?
