I am delighted to be here in Phoenix and to serve as the new Director of the Office of Consecrated Life. Born in Bethesda, Maryland and raised in the Diocese of Arlington, VA, my parents are both refugees from Cuba. Bilingual from a young age, I have been blessed with the great gifts of a deep faith and a hopeful spirit. A graduate from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, I studied government with aspirations to go to Law School. I heard God’s call to become a Religious Sister when I was a senior in college. Not yet ready to enter, I went on to get at Masters in Secondary Education and continued to discern God’s will for me. With the grace of God and assistance from wise priests, I entered the Religious Sisters of Mercy in Alma, MI in September of 2001. Since then, I have had the privilege and joy to serve in Rome, Boston and Sydney, Australia prior to coming to Phoenix. Celebrating my 11th Anniversary of Profession of Vows during this Year of Consecrated Life, I offer myself to be a witness of the joy of the obedience of Religious Life and to assist those discerning a vocation to a life given in complete consecration to God.
