Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)
February 15, 2015 5:00 pm · Father David Mbimadong

From the Old Testament reading taken from Leviticus we heard how God called Moses and his brother Aaron, and instructed them. Describing to them some type of communicable diseases that were all put together and called leprosy.
He instructed them that if the priests were to agree it was leprosy, then the person who had the leprosy would be cast out of the community, he would be isolated. This was a long time ago when medical science had not developed so much. This was a way of helping the people to curb the spread of communicable diseases. For the person who was attacked by this leprosy, his fate was that he would wear torn clothes, he would have unkempt hair and would cry out "unclean, unclean" to stop others from coming in contact with him. He suffered indignity, he was marginalized.
