Today from the Gospel and the First Reading, we have how God revealed himself in different situations to mere human beings. In the First Reading we heard the Lord God appeared in a vision to Abram. And he told Abram he was going to make his descendants as many as the stars in the skies. Abram was not quite happy because he didn't even have a child of his own.
Because he trusted what the Lord told him, he agreed to go with what the Lord said. And the Lord counted that as righteousness. He promised him to have many children, many descendants and as you can see, even though we are not directly from Abram, we are descendants of Abram through faith. And he also added that his descendants are going inherit the land in which Abram is a stranger and that came to pass. Whatever the Lord decides to do, there is nothing that will stop Him doing it.
