Today St. John said in the second reading that the victory that conquers the world is our faith. Those words come to life in you. Last week you've died with Jesus in Baptism, and now you participate in his new life. And we are so glad to have you here at St. Ann, you represent the hope of a new future.
I am also happy because of the many people who came to confess in Holy Week. It was amazing, to see lots and lots of people, parishioners and non-parishioners coming to be reconciled with God. Bishop Nevares couldn't believe what he saw. On Good Friday, the Bishop stayed in the confessional roughly 15-16 hours. That is the kind of Bishops we are blessed have here in Phoenix. He loves St. Anne, and I think we can say St. Anne loves the Bishops. Especially now that I am speaking about Bishop Nevares, we love him. He is coming again in May for the celebration of two confirmations and he is so glad to think he will be back here. All of you coming to confess was also a blessing.
