Homilist: Bishop Eduardo A. Nevares: "This is our crown jewel, this is what distinguishes us from any other Christian denomination. We truly believe in transubstantiation, that the entire substance of the bread is changed into the body of Christ, and the total substance of the wine is changed into the blood of Christ."
Tonight we begin our Easter Triduum. Celebrating the last days of the Lord here on the face of the Earth, to commemorate this evening the Lord's last supper and we commemorate the priesthood, because we know that Jesus after supper, he had taken the bread and the wine and blessed it, consecrated it, and promising this is my body, this is my blood, and it's given for you, he said "do this, in remembrance of me." This means that he needs priests to continue doing His work, for the holy church of God.
