Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph (Homily)

Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph (Homily)

Homilies, Christmas & Epiphany

entry.speaker.one().title

As I said in the beginning, we are celebrating the Feast of Families. So we are going to speak of families in our lives. Every one of us comes from a family. Today as we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph we are celebrating a model family from which our families should learn and take inspiration.

On this day the mother Church calls on every one of us here to reflect on and to practice the virtues of family life and the bonds of love.  This is what will truly make us sons and daughters of God, for then we shall be living in the fear of the Lord and walk in his ways.  And it is when we learn to walk in the ways of God that we can have stable and lively families.  The scriptures chosen for our reflection and consideration seek to draw our attention to the need to walk the journey of life in the presence of the Lord.  Protecting and safeguarding one anothers dignity and pride within the family.
