Homilies, Advent

So Mary visits Elizabeth, we know the story. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting the infant leaped in her womb, St John the Baptist. And before she says the things she says, for example, "Blessed are you among women and Blessed is the fruit of your womb". Which we say every time we say the Hail Mary. Things of God are eternal.

Before we hear those words, Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirit cried out in a loud voice.  Filled with the Holy Spirit.  She then goes on to say after, "Blessed are you among women and Blessed is the fruit of your womb", she asks, "How does this happen to me that the mother of my Lord comes to me".  Where did she get that information?  Is this the first recognizing of Jesus?  Mary is just newly pregnant and Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirit, calls her the mother of my Lord.  John the Baptist hasn't been around talking about Him yet.  When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, such things can come out of our mouth and our actions can be Godly.
