Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)

Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)

January 31, 2016 7:00 am  · Father Dan Vanyo

Homilies, Ordinary Time

entry.speaker.one().title

In the first reading from Jeremiah, we have the words, great pro-life verse, before I formed you in the womb I knew you. There are women in this congregation, even in this lighter attended 7am Mass, who have been living with the wound of a past abortion and still have not confessed it. I know some of the reasons why, but I am here to encourage you to stop, don't wait any longer.

You've been carrying around the guilt, the pain from the wound for years and in some cases, decades.  I know because have already run into a few of them, or they've sought out a priest here, and there have to be more.  Stop carrying it alone, come into the confessional, repent, give it over to Jesus, receive his grace and forgiveness and start anew.  Let the Divine Physician to start to heal and transform the wound.  The same goes for any men who ever encouraged or pushed a woman into having an abortion.  The same goes for you.
