By rejecting the blind man, the Pharisees were actually rejecting Jesus. Inviting the blind man to participate in Jesus' fate.
I had the privilege to study the fourth gospel, the gospel of St. John with one of the best professors I've ever known. He spent twenty years of his life in Rome, working on five verses of the Holy Scripture. Five verses in twenty years. His name was Enrique, Father Henry, he passed away in October 2013. Father Henry insisted on the fact that by rejecting the blind man, the Pharisees were actually rejecting Jesus. The blind man was enlightened by Christ who had transformed his life by giving him sight. As a result of that, the Pharisees condemned him and threw him out of the synagoge.
