Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)
February 08, 2015 7:00 am · Father Charles Casale

Homilist: Father Casale "Almost as in a symphony our Liturgy this weekend's readings remind us of one of the principle themes of the first chapters of Mark's Gospel, is to remind every believer that whatever ministry the Lord calls you to exercise in the Church of Jesus Christ is a privilege."
How come then, we have to constantly be exorcised of the demons that try to grapple us or pull us inward and make us feel that the ministry we are exercising in the Church is my ministry? The Lord may call you to a particular ministry, but we want to remember that wherever the Lord places us in the House of God, we are there by privilege, we are to exercise the talents He has given us for the good of the community. Any attitude otherwise is demonic.
