Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Homily)

Today, let's take a little walk through the Gospel. The Gospel begins with the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the Word. And that has two meanings. They were listening to the Word in the flesh, that's one. And two, they were listening to the Word.
As you know Jesus was frequently is bringing up scripture and telling people what it means, or referring it to Him or...the Word continues to feed, and people are pressing in. He's not doing a ton of miracles on the shore. The people are listening to the Word. The Word of God is attractive. So that's why it's a good idea to read some scripture between Sunday Masses.
