Easter Vigil (Homily)

Easter Vigil (Homily)

April 04, 2015 8:00 pm

Homilies, Easter

Bishop Nevares: As you can see this is a little bit different night, a little bit different liturgy. This is where the Church pulls out all the stops.

This is the night in which we as Christians gather from all over the world to proclaim the one message that is the bedrock of our faith. Jesus Christ has died, Jesus Christ is risen, and Jesus Christ will come again. Thank you to Father Sergio for inviting me to share this Easter Triduim with you here at St Anne's Parish. It has been a wonderful joy to be with you and it will continue to be a joy all through tomorrow. My brothers and sisters, just to think that some 2000 years ago, this Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, walked on the face of this earth. And to think that some 2000 years ago, this Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God with us, preached the message of salvation, healed, comforted, raised from the dead, and proved in so many ways, his Divine nature.
