Easter Sunday (Homily)

Easter Sunday (Homily)

April 05, 2015 6:00 am  · Father Charles Casale

Homilies, Easter

entry.speaker.one().title

Father Casale: Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen indeed! Now that should set the theme or the tone for our meditation on the Gospel, the Word of God today.

I would like to begin by sharing with you one of the most fundamental dramas of our Catholic Christian faith, is comparable to the situation of the women who ran to the tomb of our Blessed Lord to anoint Him. They said, "Who is going help us remove the stone that separates us from the very Lord?" That was the preoccupation on their minds because they were running to the tomb to anoint Jesus, they were not running to see the risen Lord. Although He had predicted His resurrection, He had foretold His resurrection. But they didn't approach with the sense of experiencing the risen Lord. They went to anoint his body, which was customary, which was the thing to do.
