6th Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 14, 2015 4:30 pm · Father Charles Casale

Homilist: Father Casale: "He (God) wants us to understand, as Job of old came to understand, that suffering is a demon that He allows to walk around and within us so that we can become stronger, that we can become more a disciple of Jesus Christ so that we can reach out human and spiritual potential"
We must remember to turn to God in our times of need and suffering. It is often human nature that we do just the opposite. Referring to the scripture, lepers were isolated from society because of their illness. The common belief was that they received the illness due to impurity. However the leper has faith in Jesus. He approached him alone, and by himself to seek His healing. The reflects the way in which we come to confession with a priest to become cleansed of our sin (sickness) alone.
