What a wonderful time at the park with our youth! Thank you, Knights of Columbus and Parents! We played kickball, capture the flag, grubbed on some BBQ, and then ended the night with a mystery of the Rosary; allowing the youth to place at the feet of Mary and Jesus any intentions they had in their heart.
Our Lady of Fatima… Ora Pro Nobis.
The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting our fall bake sale on Saturday October 21, after the afternoon mass and on Sunday October 22 after all morning masses. Please feel free to donate any baked goods and drop off before any of the masses. Also consider helping us out and purchasing some baked goods! We will see y’all in the courtyard after mass!

Greetings in Christ,
In celebration of our beloved saint, St. Francis of Assisi, we will be celebrating the Blessing of the Animals on Wednesday, October 4th @ 6pm in the Church Courtyard.
St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals, cared for the poor and sick, he preached sermons to animals, and praised all creatures as brothers and sisters under God. Animals are our companions on Earth, whether they be house pets or domesticated livestock; creatures great and small. We receive much from them: comfort and protection, as well as labor, food and clothing. This blessing is not about the created object, it is about us and our use of those objects, for the greater honor and glory of God as revealed in his creation.
I’ll close with the words of St. Pope John Paul II in his message on the World Day of Peace: Peace with God the Creator, Peace with all of Creation, “It is my hope that the inspiration of Saint Francis will help us to keep ever alive a sense of ‘fraternity’ with all those good and beautiful things which Almighty God has created. And may he remind us of our serious obligation to respect and watch over them with care, in light of that greater and higher fraternity that exists within the human family.”
One last thing, a woman asked me if she can bring her husband to be blessed. I will just clear this up now and say, NO.
Our monthly basketball game with our priests happened.
Next month: Come and challenge them and others in a friendly game of basketball. We will have a few warm-up scrimmage games for the first hour with all the youth, and then the young adults vs priests for the remainder of the night. We will begin playing at 7:30pm at the basketball courts at Freestone Park. Hope to see you there! All are welcome! Bring a friend.
In our Lady’s arms,
Greetings in Christ,
BATTLE will begin tonight in the church hall @ 6:00pm to 7:30pm. This will be our Kickoff to begin the year. All BATTLE is invited (Monday and Sunday classes). Calendars for the year will be sent home with the youth.
If you are a parent, or a parishioner with a generous heart, we need snacks like chips, pretzels, cookies, etc., and soda. Bring what you can. We are grateful for anything we receive.
Thank you and may God bless you for your generosity.
